solar radiation sensor
PYR pyranometer
overview
A sensor the measurement of global solar radiation between the wavelengths of 380 nm and 1120 nm. The PYR sensor is ideal for a portable, handheld measurement or for continuous measurements with a data logger.
The PYR global solar radiation sensor is ideal for growers, students and scientific researchers.
features
- Low cost, high accuracy sensor
- Voltage output to connect to our data loggers or your existing data loggers
- Mounting plate with spirit level for accurate installations
handheld or continuous measurement options
Edaphic Scientific can supply the PYR solar radiation sensor with either a handheld, portable meter or we can connect the sensor to a data logger for continuous measurements.
For continuous measurement, the PYR solar radiation sensor supported by the ZL6 Data Logger or Wireless Data Logger. The PYR sensor connects directly into the ZL6 and is pre-programmed and ready to measure.
weather station options
For optimal measurements, the PYR solar radiation sensor can be connected to our range of weather stations.
The PYR solar radiation sensor provides valuable measurements on the light environment. However, this information can be incomplete because it does not include other important variables for plant growth including rainfall, temperature, relative humidity, vapour pressure deficit (VPD) and wind speed and direction. By connecting the PYR solar radiation sensor to a weather station system, complete knowledge of the plant growth environment can be obtained.
