UV sensors & meters
a digital, SDI-12 ultraviolet light sensor or meter
overview
- Measure ultraviolet (UV) light
- Low cost, high accuracy sensor that is ideal for researchers and growers
- SDI-12 digital output model SU-221 from Apogee and METER Group
- Easy-to-use, calibrated sensor that is ready to measure
- Connect to our range of data loggers or handheld meters or your own IoT, LoRa or other device
The Apogee UV-A Sensor, supported by METER Group and Edaphic Scientific, measures total solar radiation in the wavebands between 300 and 400 nm.
The low cost, robust and accurate sensor can measure UV continuously at a single location. Alternatively, the UV sensor can be supported by METER Group's ZSC Handheld Meter for a portable, flexible solution.
The ultraviolet light UV-A sensor is easy to install and maintain. The sensor has a unique, patented dome shaped design that minimises cleaning and ongoing maintenance.
handheld or continuous measurement options
Edaphic Scientific can supply the UV sensor with either a handheld, portable meter or we can connect the sensor to a data logger for continuous measurements.
The UV-A easily connects into the ZSC Handheld Meter for a portable measurement option. Simply insert the stereo plug into the ZSC and measurements will be displayed on your smartphone via a Bluetooth connection.
The ZSC can support additional sensors and parameters including soil moisture, water potential, temperature, relative humidity, and solar radiation.
For continuous measurement, the UV-A sensor is supported by the ZL6 Data Logger or Wireless Data Logger. The UV-A sensor connects directly into the ZL6 and is pre-programmed and ready to measure.
weather station options
For optimal measurements, the ultraviolet light sensor can be connected to our range of weather stations.
The UV-A sensor provides valuable measurements on the light environment. However, this information can be incomplete because it does not include other important variables including solar radiation, photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), rainfall, temperature, relative humidity, vapour pressure deficit (VPD) and wind speed and direction. By connecting the UV-A sensor to a weather station system, complete knowledge of the environment can be obtained.
