standard rhizon samplers
soil pore water suction lysimeters
overview
- 2.5mm diameter, 5cm or 10cm length, porous membrane
- A mean pore size of 0.15 µm, and yield of water of approx. 4 mL/minute, or option 0.6 µm pore size for faster sampling
- Suitable for sampling macro and micro elements, dissolved gases and DOC
- Ideal for soils in pots, vessels, columns, cylinders with disturbed or undisturbed profiles
- Ideal for soil columns research
- Standard tube length is 12 cm with longer options available upon request (e.g., 30cm, 60cm)
- Female (standard) or male luer locking mechanisms available:
female luer lock-type of sampler:
male luer lock-type of sampler:
available models
Rhizon CSS are used for direct sampling in cores or undisturbed sediments. They are used to collect water for analyzing macro and micro elements, gases and DOC.

sampling accessories
Before you can take your samples, you will need additional accessories to create a vacuum. This can be either a syringe or a vacuum tube. For field experiments, extension tubing might be useful. We could advise you about the best accessories for your experiments.
